Msafiri is Petit Planet's Taffeh adventure guide. In the documented Final Beta, you could meet him through a Taffeh-planet memo task or an unknown islet in Taffeh Zone T31. His Bond Level 5 talent unlocks Special Co-op Expedition.
The Final Beta ended on October 19, 2026. The encounter routes, specialty labels, and unlock level below describe that build and need checking against the released game.
Recognize Msafiri

Msafiri has caracal-like features: sandy fur, lighter markings around his face, and long black ear tufts. His outfit and adventure-guide role help distinguish him from other feline characters.
Character art changed between tests, so a very old image can look different from his Final Beta design. Use the name and profile alongside the appearance when comparing an older guide with what you see in-game.
Two documented encounter routes
| Route | Final Beta reference |
|---|---|
| Taffeh starting planet | Memo task When the Planet Grows: The Strange Tree at the Mountain's Base |
| Starsea Voyage | Unknown islet in Taffeh Zone T31 |
The memo route is specifically associated with a Taffeh planet. Do not assume a different starting planet has the identical early task sequence.
The Starsea entry does not give a fixed grid position, spawn probability, or guaranteed anchor count. An unknown islet is an encounter opportunity, rather than a permanent shop-like location that you can select whenever you want.
The tree-and-tumbleweed encounter shown in beta play
An earlier beta recording shows a Taffeh encounter beginning with Msafiri stuck in a tree. Shake the tree to free him, then speak with him about the treasure he was chasing.
His clue points toward shrubs and corners in the Starsea. The object eventually returned is a tumbleweed with a feather caught in it. Bring it back to him and continue the conversation about staying on your planet.
The demonstrated settlement sequence then introduces him to Mobai, who provides a Neighbor home building kit. Choose a suitable place and set the kit down to establish his home. The arrival dialogue includes a pair of shoes as a thank-you, but does not establish a universal named reward table for every build.
This is the encounter sequence shown in that beta recording. If your actual Memo has a different task or item list, follow its current objectives rather than combining two versions of the request.
An older Starsea request, Msafiri's Treasure, instead asked for wildgrass, Flamewood, and mangoes. If that is your active request, the ingredients were not all restricted to the first encounter islet: the completed account found mangoes on another Taffeh islet, returned home, and called Msafiri over to hand in the request.
Meeting him is not the whole settlement sequence
The normal invited-Neighbor system begins with an introduction that records the character in Starcove at Bond Level 1. A second Starsea meeting raises the relationship to Bond Level 2 and opens the visit stage. Later encounters are not restricted to the original introduction islet.
After the visit and associated request, progression commonly reaches Bond Level 3. You can then ask the Neighbor to settle if enough Neighbor Capacity remains.
Use that sequence to diagnose a missing invitation. If you have met Msafiri only once, look for the next encounter. If he has visited, check his request and your capacity rather than repeating the introduction route.
His Starsea gathering specialties

| Specialty | Final Beta label |
|---|---|
| Woodcutting | Expert |
| Fishing | Expert |
| Mining | Enthusiast |
| Bug catching | Enthusiast |
Settled Neighbors can accompany Starsea Voyages and help collect resources. These labels make Msafiri a relevant companion when your trip concerns wood or fish, while also showing that his listed expertise differs by activity.
No exact gathering speed, extra drop percentage, or additional catch count is established here. The specialty names support comparing his profile, but not a numerical efficiency calculation.
Unlock Special Co-op Expedition at Bond Level 5
His documented Bond talent is Special Co-op Expedition, unlocked at Level 5. The pre-launch presentation also confirms partnering with Msafiri to plan expeditions and share discoveries.
Develop the relationship through the activities available in your build: conversations, gifts, meals, hangouts, daily interactions, and his associated requests. A standard voyage and the named Bond talent are related features, but they should not be treated as the same unlock.
The expedition's exact launch requirements, duration, reward table, and resource costs are not established here. Reaching the documented Bond level identifies the next feature to inspect; it does not support inventing a timer or a list of guaranteed treasure.
Gift categories shown in the Final Beta
The Final Beta character showcase lists brown, grilled dishes, and natural fibers among Msafiri's favored categories. It lists bathtubs, drinks, and Field & Orchard Salad among dislikes.
Use the item's displayed category and Msafiri's Starcove fields to choose a gift. The category list is not a guarantee that every grilled fish recipe has the same Loved response, and the exact gift tags should be checked again in the released build.
His general personality mentions grilled fish, but the beta category display supplies a better lead than flavor text alone. Daily conversations may also reveal a specific item he wants from Glenn's Goods.
Story unlocks and expedition progress
Msafiri's recorded stories unlocked at these Bond levels:
| Bond level | Story | Listed Dough reward |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | The “Little Brother” | 100. |
| 4 | Kula Bata! | 200. |
| 6 | Special Coming-of-Age Gift | 300. |
| 8 | A Long, Long Time Ago | 400. |
These story rewards are separate from the Bond Level 5 Special Co-op Expedition talent. Completing a story node or buying a Keepsake is not the same action as running an expedition.
His Journey also tracked completed expeditions: Backpacker at 3 for 30 Dough, Pathfinder at 20 for 100 Dough, and Explorer at 50 for 200 Dough. Those are milestone rewards, not a claim that every expedition takes the same time or always yields the same treasure.
